Here we come, and here is Great Britain. This post is about three men models who are probably on the top of the list of the most famous British models worldwide.
They are David Gandy, Danny Schwarz and Sam Way, we will continue in a next post to present the other British famous models of the fashion industry with the rising stars (Luke Worrall, Harry Goodwins, and Ash Stymest) and then with the new faces and the ones who need yet to be discovered.
As London is a very international city and still a hot spot for men fashion most of the British models are living there or around the city even if for Men Fashion the hottest places are Milan, New York and Paris. Let’s start with the number one British model, David Gandy.
David Gandy was born in Billericay, Essex, England, Essex is a county located northeast f London, on the East coast of England. David was born on February 1980.
Winning a TW model search competition, he begs modeling in 2002. He signed with Public Image Worldwide and started making clothes catalogue for the UK market before being selected as a top model by Dolce & Gabbana. He has appeared in numerous campaign and catwalk shows for this famous luxury Italian brand.
He is now signed with DNA Model Management in NYC and SElect Model Management in London.
He also wants to promote great dressing for men that, he says, “shouldn’t be difficult”. “Men are still quite scared of the connotations of looking gay, even in 2010,” he says. “But dressing well can be easy, you don’t have to buy a suit from the most expensive labels – you can pick one up from Zara or Marks & Spencer and for an extra £20 or £30 you could have it tailored to fit you perfectly – and nothing really looks better than a tailored suit.”
Gandy dated English singer Mollie King for 10 months until their breakup in February 2012.
Danny Schwarz, is a British male model, born in Croydon, a large town in South London. Croydon, is situated 9.5 miles (15 km) south of Charing Cross and part of the Greater London.
He was born on April 17, 1986, which means that today (09/2012), Danny is 26.
He started his career as model in 2008 when he signed with Model Premier Management , and appeared in campaigns and runways shows for famous brands like Dolce & Gabbana, Pepe Jeans, Missoni, Armani Jeans and Colcci.
He was shot together with the great Brazilian model Gisele Bûndchen, and worked with photographers as Bruce Weber, Mario Testino or Steven Meisel for Calvin Klein jeans campaign.
In 2009 Forbes magazine named him as the 4th most successful model in the world. He appeared in magazines as Vogue, GQ, and OUT. He is a good friend of the American and successful model Sean O’Pry.
Sam Way is born in Exeter, Devon, a county of the South West of England bounded at the west by Cornwall.
He was born on 1988.
He grew up in South West England, between rolling hills and lots of sheep. It was a great place to be as a kid and his Mum and Dad split when he was young, but both stayed in the same sort of area (Exeter) to parent me. His youth was mainly spent running around in fields and going camping. he started coming to London when I was 16, commuting on the train for modelling jobs . He signed with Models 1 (London).
He worked for Diesel, BBoy, Abercrombie & Fitch and Dolce & Gabbana. He was photographed by Bruce Weber alongside Kate Moss for Vogue Hommes.
And now he has been living in London, settled in a charming part of east London, in Comumbia Road, for few years now.
Talking about his job and the photographic session and the fact that some require being without much clothes…, he just say that we were born nude, that the best things happen in life when we are nude and it shouldn’t be an issue for anyone.
