I really ‘fall in love’ with this song the first time I listen by Placebo. By the way the song was made famous in 1985 by Kate Bush… that’s quite a long time ago…. so I was young at that time and even if the tune means something to me it was not really clear in my mind.
THE VIDEO
I like the mood of this music, it really bring you somewhere far from the noisy and busy place we live in town. The video clip I bring to you is meant to create a quite atmosphere, so you can feel close to the nature and discover hidden in the forest some attractive and genuine guys… So let’s go and see what we can find under the shadow of the trees!
FROM KATE BUSH TO PLACEBO
As I mentioned above, I didn’t noticed when the song was first released by Kate Bush, in 1985, I was too young and I really discovered it with the 2003 album of Placebo. In 2007, an additional US version of Placebo was released It was used in an episode of Vampires Diaries .
The meaning of the video is not connected to the meaning of the song. Kate Bush explained that
“I was trying by this song to say that, really, a man and a woman, can’t understand each other because we are a man and a woman. And if we could actually swap each other’s roles, if we could actually be in each other’s place for a while, I think we’d both be very surprised! And I think it would lead to a greater understanding.”
Stefan Olsdal, Brian Molko and Steve Forrest, form the band Placebo. The band have gained some measure of notoriety for the sexual orientation of its member: Olsdal is gay, Forrest is straight and Molko is bisexual.
