Tamotsu Yato (矢頭 保) was a Japanese artist who mainly express his art in homoerotic photographies. He had represented the Japanese male in a large number of Black and White pictures. He was born in Nishinomiya, a suburb of Osaka. He was rejected by his family because of his homosexuality. He will meet Meredith Weatherby an English expatriate to Japan, with whom he will stay in relationship till 1970. He died in 1973.
Tamotsu was a close friend of the writer Yukio Mishima, whom he shot for some nude pictures.
